Individuals or couples age 55 and over.
We offer independent living, assisted living and assisted living memory care.
No. Residents sign a renewable one-year lease and pay a monthly rent. We also accept residents in Vermont’s Medicaid program for assisted living, Veterans Administration’s Aid & Attendance program, and private Long Term Care Insurance.
Yes, this is your home, and we encourage you to bring your own furnishings and mementos.
Absolutely! Family and friends are always welcome here. Both of our programs have their own dining rooms, with extra room. Just speak with the staff to schedule arrangements.
Vergennes Grand residents can have pets. As long as you are able to take care of the pet, such as walking a dog outdoors and cleaning up after them, you can have your pet here with you. Ask to see our pet policy for complete details.
We do ask that your personal physician complete a health assessment form for our staff. Our Health Services Director will also meet with you to help determine the appropriate level of care for you, and to complete an individual care plan.
Our location in downtown offers easy access to numerous shops and services within walking distance. Vergennes Grand has its own vehicle as well as partnering with local transportation services. We will have scheduled weekly trips to local stores and restaurants, and you can schedule transportation for personal appointments when the car is available.
If you or your spouse/companion experience changes which require more intensive health care, we will make every effort to accommodate your needs. The staff at Vergennes Grand can provide additional care, which can also be supplemented with care by other specialized outside providers. If your care needs require a “higher level” of care than our license allows, we will work with you to find appropriate placement.
Yes, we often have couples residing together, where only one person is receiving personal care services. Everyone benefits from meals, housekeeping, socialization and more!
